Originals Band from Melbourne - City, VIC
Hard & Progressive Rock band, mindroom are looking for a highly talented vocalist (male or female) to collaborate on writing, performing & recording Original material.
We are a three piece with drums, bass & lead guitar. We have 10+ original songs in various stages of completion with much of the lyrics already written.
We recently lost a highly rated vocalist & close friend, who reluctantly had to pull out of the project because of work commitments. We're now on the lookout for a high calibre replacement.
We're all experienced musicians in our 40's with pro-gear & extensive recording & live experience from playing in many bands over the last 25 years.
Our focus will be irregular gigs (say once a month) on the local Melbourne circuit. It is also our intention to record when we have the material developed up to a high standard.
Our creative focus is very much on melody & groove with an emphasis on feel rather than technical brilliance; although we intend on including some complicated material in varying time signatures as we progress. We favour medium paced blues inspired English or American Progressive & Hard Rock that "breathes", rather than fast, double kick filled power metal. We're not into death metal, trash, nu-metal, stoner rock or screamo. The direction we take is very much determined by our influences & the creative input of all members.
You must be a talented vocalist with strong song writing ability & be able to rehearse at least once a week. You need to have pro-gear, reliable transport, preferably be in your 30's or 40's, have a stable home & flexible work environment, a passion for Hard & Progressive rock & a positive attitude.
Our previous male vocalist was in the Ronnie James Dio (r.i.p), Geoff Tate, James LaBrie vocal genre. Ideally, we would prefer someone with a similar style who will find it easier to work with the material already written. Regardless, the most important thing is that you have a powerful voice, strong sense of melody & can hold a note. We can adjust to suit. You could be either male or female. We all sing so can provide competent backing vocals.
Our influences include Deep Purple, Rush, Dream Theater, Whitesnake, Black Sabbath, Yes, Kansas, Threshold, Dio, Porcupine Tree, Jorn Lande, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Queensryche, Circus Maximus, Kamelot, Jethro Tull, Toto, Journey, Rainbow, Santana, Mr Big, Judas Priest, Frank Zappa, Thin Lizzy, Van Halen, Chickenfoot, Soul Sircus & Alice Cooper.
We live in the Eastern & North Eastern suburbs and prefer to rehearse at either Lighting Lab (Box Hill) or a friend's rehearsal studio in Bayswater.
But we're flexible & happy to rotate between studios.

Note:These instrument only tracks were raw un-mixed demos recorded on a Zoom Handy recorder in the rehearsal studio. We have been using them as guide tracks to assist in developing & fine tune the music. The sound quality is OK & will give you a good indication of what we're like. Lyrics have been written for most of the tracks although they would be subject to change as we would encourage input from the new vocalist.
