Band: Rivercity Steel Band

Drummer Wanted to join band

Rivercity Steel Band needs a drummer and steel pan players. We are a community steel band playing Caribbean style music. We rehearse Tuesday evenings at West End State School. We play around three gigs a month at weekends, including regular performances at Moggill and Mt Crosby markets, Brisbane Bands in the Park Sunday afternoon series and various festivals and fairs. We need a competent drummer to cover some performances. We are also looking for new members to play steel pans and other percussion instruments, no experience or ability to read music necessary, just a feel for the beat. All ages welcome. We're not for profit and the money we raise is put back into developing the band, so we cannot offer payment but can offer fun, friends and an opportunity to gain some experience with Caribbean style music and exposure to public performances. All members pay $50 quarterly subscriptions, which helps to cover tuition and room hire. Two free sessions for newcomers. You can see some of us perform on You Tube.
